Drive via Dochula Pass (3,100m) with 108 chortens. Visit Chimi Lhakhang and Punakha Dzong.
Explore Gangtey Monastery and witness the pristine valley, home to endangered black-necked cranes (Nov–Feb).
A scenic drive through forested hills and rural hamlets. Stop at Trongsa Dzong and the Watchtower Museum.
Visit Jakar Dzong, Kurje Lhakhang, and sample cheese and local honey. Optional walks to hidden temples.
Return to Paro via domestic flight (subject to availability) or scenic road journey.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
